BIO
Born and raised in Dallas, Tx, Brian Johns is a proud actor, singer, and self-published author. His foray into the arts began in his teens when a fellow church member overheard him singing one Sunday. On that day a microphone was pushed into his hand and since then his love for performance and entertainment has become a central part of his life. Brian went on to master his vocal talent to become a classically trained Baritone. His smooth, signature sound allows him to fluently master a spectrum of different genres including gospel, opera, jazz, r&b, pop, and musical theater. His voice has often been compared to the likes of Donny Hathaway, Teddy Pendergrass, and Jeffrey Osborne; all of whom have trail-blazed a path that he aims to follow.
Brian’s passion for song and self-expression eventually led him to the theatre and then in front of the camera. In 2017 he signed with the renowned Kim Dawson Agency and has had the pleasure of working with a myriad of local and national brands including Dell, Facebook, Tax Act, Black People Meet (to name a few).
Before he ever sang a tune or delivered a line, Brian was an avid reader and writer. In 2015 he decided to channel his passion for writing and published a book of poetry, proverbs, and "therapy sessions" that chronicled his path to healing as a victim of abuse. The result was: Ant in an Eggshell: The Fragile Fortitude Of a Black Man. Since its publication, Brian has had the privilege of speaking to the masses and becoming an advocate with RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.
Brian Johns' ambition, determination, and curiosity have produced many magical moments, but he is only on the precipice of his life’s purpose. There are more songs to sing, parts to play, and lives to touch. And he's proud to say that he is charting the course his way.
